    An experienced and focused superintendent who is committed to safeguarding and protecting the education and well-being of students at all times.  Chuck Marcum is passionate about giving students the best possible education in life and enjoys working in a busy environment.  He relishes the challenges of managing a diverse workload. He is able to establish supportive relationships with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members with the aim of promoting and reinforcing a student's best interest. He is someone who is fundamentally committed to best practice and innovation while still having his feet entrenched in the day-to-day operations of Roanoke City Schools.
