Dear Parents, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. As your Fifth Grade English teacher at Handley Middle School, I will have the pleasure of spending the next school year with your son or daughter! I am excited about the year ahead, and I am looking forward to meeting you and your child. During the coming year, your child and I will be spending many, many hours in the classroom together. And I want you to know that there is no place I would rather be, and no job that I would rather have. Together, as parents and teacher, we can truly provide a comfortable stimulating, nurturing, and challenging environment for your child. My promise to you is that I will consistently put the best interest of your child first, keep you informed about your child’s growth and classroom activities, and always welcome your input and support. As the year progresses, I also encourage you to contact me with any concerns, questions, or comments you might have. You can always leave a message for me in the office or write me a note. Fifth grade is a stimulating, exciting place to be! We will focus on developing a wide range of language skills, as well as, provide your child with many creative writing experiences. I will also work hard to structure lessons to meet the needs of all learning styles, so that each of my students will have a wide range of vehicles for learning.
